At Pelfrey Counseling, Inc., we provide compassionate, evidence-based, and trauma-informed care for children (ages 5+), adolescents, adults, and families. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds, identities, and life experiences. Our goal is to create a safe, grounded space where healing can begin at any stage of life.

Children (Ages 5–11)

We support children who are experiencing:

  • Anxiety, worries, or fears

  • Behavioral or emotional dysregulation

  • Trouble identifying or expressing feelings

  • Grief and loss

  • Trauma exposure or stressful life events

  • School challenges or social difficulties

  • Somatic symptoms connected to stress

 

Our work with children incorporates play-based strategies, grounding tools, emotional language development, and parent involvement to support healthier regulation and communication.

TEENS (Ages 12–18)

We help teens navigate:

  • Anxiety, panic, and social fears

  • Emotional overwhelm and big feelings

  • Identity development and self-esteem challenges

  • Peer conflict or social pressure

  • Family conflict or communication breakdowns

  • Trauma histories

 

We blend validation, nervous-system-informed work, and skill-building to support healthy development.

Young Adults & College Students

We support young adults facing:

  • Academic pressure and transitions

  • Identity exploration

  • Anxiety, depression, and emotional dysregulation

  • Relationship stress

  • Perfectionism and burnout

  • Trauma processing and healing

 

Our work helps young adults build confidence, clarity, and resilience.

Adults

We work with adults navigating:

  • Trauma (recent or long-standing)

  • Anxiety, depression, and chronic stress

  • Family-of-origin wounds and attachment issues

  • Parenting and caregiver strain

  • Grief and reproductive trauma

  • Relationship stress

  • Feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or “stuck”

 

We combine body-based and cognitive therapies to support deep and sustainable healing.

Parents & Caregivers

We help parents who are:

  • Supporting a struggling child or teen

  • Feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or alone

  • Managing conflict or co-parenting challenges

  • Trying to understand their child’s needs

  • Navigating a child’s anxiety, trauma, or behavioral issues

 

We help parents regulate themselves so they can better support their children.

We integrate Somatic Experiencing, Gentle Reprocessing, and trauma-informed methods to support safety, pacing, and attuned healing.
