Experience
My clinical experience spans private practice, group homes, pediatric behavioral clinics, and the adult inpatient hospitalization program at McLean Hospital. I have supported individuals navigating anxiety disorders, including Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Panic Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), health anxiety, depression, trauma and post-traumatic stress, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), as well as individuals engaged in identity exploration and life transitions.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults, tailoring treatment to each person’s developmental stage and unique needs. I have experience supporting members of the LGBTQIA+ community and am committed to providing affirming, inclusive care where clients feel safe exploring all aspects of who they are. Identity work is often an important part of therapy. Whether navigating neurodivergence, gender, sexuality, shifting roles, or evolving self-concepts, I support clients in leaning into who they are as they move through the world.
In addition to individual therapy, I believe strongly in advocacy. When appropriate, this may include communication and collaboration with schools, adjustment counselors, medical providers, and other supports. I believe in using my power and privilege within this role to advocate for my clients while also helping them build confidence in finding and using their own voice.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach is strength-based, trauma-informed, and deeply person-centered. I believe therapy should meet you exactly where you are. You do not need to be “more ready” or “more put together” to begin. We start from your lived experience and build from there.
I integrate traditional evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with expressive and creative interventions, including art and movement-based techniques. This holistic integration honors the connection between mind and body, recognizing that healing is not only cognitive but also emotional, relational, and embodied. With children, I incorporate play therapy to support the development of distress tolerance, social skills, and flexibility around perfectionistic tendencies. Play also provides a developmentally appropriate space to process experiences that young brains may not yet have words for. Expressive and creative techniques allow children and adults to access insight and regulation in ways that feel natural and authentic.
What is Dance/Movement Therapy?
Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT) is defined by the American Dance Therapy Association as “the psychotherapeutic use of movement to promote emotional, social, cognitive, and physical integration of the individual for the purpose of improving health and well-being.”
DMT emerged in the mid-20th century when clinicians and movement pioneers began recognizing the profound connection between body experience, emotion, and psychological health. It is a recognized form of psychotherapy grounded in research and clinical training.
It can feel intimidating to hear the word “dance,” however, the way I integrate DMT depends entirely on each client’s needs, goals, and comfort level. Dance/Movement Therapy is the framework from which I practice, meaning I hold an awareness of the body, nervous system, and relational movement patterns in my work. Sometimes this may include intentional movement exploration. Other times, it may simply look like sitting in stillness and being present with the body.
What to Expect from a Session
I prioritize building a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in kinesthetic empathy, mutual trust, and respect. I view each client as the expert on their own life. My role is not to fix, but to walk alongside you, offering guidance, structure, and support as you move toward healing and growth. You can expect a collaborative space where your strengths are recognized, your experiences are honored, and your goals shape our work together. Therapy with me is both compassionate and active, and a space where we can reflect deeply, feel fully, and practice new ways of being.
